The Blogpolice can’t get me!!!

   Posted by: ladybug   in Uncategorized

Ha!  so there..  :P

Good morning friends!!  Hmmm, we had Rhea’s drill team competition on Saturday!!  So, how did it go?  Well let me tell you….  she had to be there at 7 am, and she was set to do her competition at 12:30.  Not a problem…. we’d go to breakfast and just bum around a little bit.  We got back to the school, camera and video camera in hand at about 9…..  Sat and talked to 1st Sargeant for a while, and he reaffirmed that Rhea’s team would be going on about 12:20 to 12:30…..  sooooo at about 10:30, we decide to go grab some coffee.  While sitting at the drive-thru, Rhea calls and says we need to get back there, cause she thinks she is getting ready to go on….  oops!!  We’re in the drive-thru!!  So we hurry back (5 minutes down the road)…..  get out of our car…..  and yes!!!  you guessed it…..  she had just finished up!!!!  OMG, talk about being not only pissed, but soooo disappointed.  She has been practicing for 2 weeks straight after school for 2 hours every day!!!  One of her friends did video it, so we are gonna see if we can get a copy.  What a total bummer……  She was sooooo disappointed that we didn’t get to see her either…  but.. her team took 4th, and Kylie’s team took 3rd.  In order to go to state competition, you need to place first.  The dual rifle team DID place 1st in that competition, so they will be going to state in April.  Many years ago, when Shane was in drill team, he had won the dual rifles too!!!  So Rhea wanted to try and follow in her older brothers and sister’s footsteps.  They banned rifles for the freshman though, so next year she is gonna go for that!!!

Other than that, it was a quiet weekend…..  except at the garden!!  Sheesh.. the challenges are up, and so is our February Collab kit!  Wow, it turned out awesome….  See?

it says 2008, but it is 2009…. Carena corrected it, and I was too lazy to change the preview!!  LOL LOL  Isn’t it gorgeous?  over 37 papers and 60 elements!  And it could be free with the purchase of $10 or more….

I also had a wonderful kit to work with from Karen Wallace (thanks Karen)… it is one of 4 new releases!!!  This one is called Blackeyed Jazz!!  Look at my layouts that I made with this awesome kit!

That’s me surrounded by my two brothers….

Karen sent in this photo for one of the challenges, so I used it!!!

and then I did this one of Rhea and her Dad…..  this kit really is amazing, and the versatility of it is phenomenal!!!  Thanks again GF!

Now, I have also been working on a new kit….  it isn’t my normal, and still not quite sure I like it.  So, I scrapped a layout with what I had, just to see how things are gonna look….  so you tell me!

It isn’t finished yet….  right now it has 20 papers, and over 30 elements… need some more though, but I will let you know when I release it to the shoppe!

Ok, that’s it for today….. (probably longer LOL ) …….  have a great week my friends!!  {{HUGS}}

I am doing this minor (very minor) update, to appease the blog police!  LOL LOL  It seems that everyone at the garden is having to update their blogs…  sheesh!  I don’t think I can find something to say every single day…  LOL LOL

So, here’s what we got….  the final part of the S*C*R*A*P game was won by Karen this week…. so that means that it is time to get your February cards ready….

Here’s mine:

 and my desktop is done too!

Lots of stuff going on at the garden too…..  I love the newest challenge of Scrap with This, will ya?

Take a look at this photo that was scrapped by several members:

How unique each one is…  Top layout created by Helene aka Victoria32

                                           Second one created by Elaine aka emst

                                           Third one belongs to Traci

                                           Last one is mine

I just love this challenge….  it is difficult for me to journal or do any titles, but having a photo that I haven’t any “connection” to, and creating just the right setting for journaling is way too much fun, and such an inspiration for me to start doing journaling….

Ok, I updated….  off now to see what trouble Karen is stirring up in the garden….  stop by and have a laugh or two!!

Have a great day…  {{HUGS}}

Ok FINE!!!  I am updating…. sheesh!  Sometimes, you just don’t have a lot to say, and I hate boring everyone with the same old s**t!

Still not too much to say though…  :)  The week has been ok…. we actually got into the 20’s down here in southwest Florida!  I saw THICK frost…  :)  it is supposed to be up to 73 today for our high.  After the past couple of nights, I have decided I DON’T WANT TO SEE SNOW!!!  It is tooooo friggin cold.  I sat on the toilet and jumped up..  LOL  I asked my husband, how do they do it up north?  It was freezing!  Do they have heated toilet seats?  :P  No way could I live in that cold weather… just no way!

The garden is really beginning to bloom.  Regardless of sales, the artistry that is being planted is phenomenal..  and I mean, some real works of art!  After all, I so enjoy looking at beautiful art.  Remember the kit Heart’s Desire?  Well, I made an add-on to it!  It turned out larger than what I anticipated though….  I just kept adding and adding…  Originally, I was going to put it on sale for $2 till the end of January, but I have decided to send out a coupon to everyone that purchased the original kit, and be able to get this add-on for FREE!  Now this offer will only be good to those that have purchased Heart’s Desire before January 31st!  Then the addon will go into the shoppe for $3.00, and Heart’s Desire will go up to regular price of $5.99….  right now it is on sale for $4.13! …..  so, bottom line…….. you get Heart’s Desire and the addon for $4.13!!!  After January 31st, to purchased both of these kits, it will cost you $8.99!  So really…. buy it now and save!  Oh, here’s what the addon looks like:

and if you don’t want to scroll down to see Heart’s Desire, here’s what it looks like:

and how about a some layouts!!

These were created with both kits!!

I have all my February challenge stuff ready to go up….  I will be releasing the February Desktop this week..  this way you’ll have a chance to have it done and ready to go on February 1st!!  Stop by the garden, and get your challenges finished up too….

Ok, gonna go send out some more resumes…..  maybe scrap a little……  and play at the garden!  Hope to see you there…

Have a great weekend…   {{HUGS}}

It is 45 degrees outside, and it is only supposed to get to 67 today!!  I know, we are orange juice drinkin Florida sissys!!  LOL LOL  That’s what some guy had called us on the Today show, and then proceeded to say that he was heading to Florida next week!!!  LOL  ……  Nothing compared to what everyone else is dealing with, I know….  Ummm, it is supposed to get into the 30’s tonite!!  brrrrrr…

I have released a new kit…..  It’s called Heart’s Desire, and is currently 25% off till Jan 31st!  Look:

It has over 40 elements including word art…..

and it has 18 gorgeously textured papers….

I made 2 layouts with it…..  the second layout I did for the SCRAP WITH THAT, WILL YA? challenge at the garden….   This first layout is of my mother back in 1942 …

Here’s the challenge entry using this kit:

and here is one from a dear friend who actually contributed a piece of the word art that is in the kit..

Liz aka sexy_eyes:

Didn’t she do a wonderful job?  Thanks Liz… you’re awesome..

I will have more layouts using this kit real soon….

I also did the second photo of the SCRAP THAT challenge…..  take a look:

I used my other new kit called Tenderly for this one….

This challenge is becoming a huge success…. 2 photos get posted weekly from a pool of member submitted photos….  and YOU SCRAP EM!!!  It has been so much fun to see how everyone interprets these photos…..

Well, got to get the day going….  exams are this week, so there is early dismissal and no school on Monday and Tuesday…..

It’s Monday!!! Thought I would update…

   Posted by: ladybug   in Uncategorized

Not too much is going on around here, but the garden is getting ready to start another brand new challenge!!  It is called  “Scrap With This, Will Ya?”  Sounds interesting huh?  Well every Monday 2 photos that have been “member” submitted will be posted.  You pick one of them, and scrap them!!  How cool is that?  It should be very interesting to see every artists take on the “strange” photos….  I will be pulling out the very first 2 shortly.  This is gonna be a weekly challenge, and if you do all 4….. you get 20 seeds!

Now for sharing some layouts with you….  The first 2 are made using Nathfunstuff’s Valentine Musing kit which just hit the shoppe…..  The preview of this kit does not do it justice…  here are my layouts!

the next one is for the “Artistically Speaking w/Lynn” challenge….  she provides you with her wonderful word art, and…. uh, you use it in a layout!!  Here’s mine:

For that one and this next one, I used my newly released kit called Tenderly….

I also did a layout for the “Carjazi’s Gardening with Quotes” challenge…. I used the fabulous January collab kit called Frosty Mornings which is FREE with a $10 purchase….  Here it is:

and to wrap this up….. Here is a layout I did with an upcoming kit!  The roses and leaves are from Nathfunstuff’s Valentine Musing kit, and the “My Love is Alive” word art is from Liz Gramm (which she contributed to the kit!)  The rest will be in this kit!  (My inspiration for this kit came from Diane aka Carjazi….  her Black Tie Papers are sooooo gorgeous, I wanted to make my own kit!)  also from all the layouts in the garden using the reds/blacks and white  ….  truly a fantastic color combo…  Ok here is my layout:

Ok, that’s it for today… (probably tomorrow too..  :)  )  Stop by the garden and check out this newest challenge…. I really think it is gonna be a blast!!!

Everyone have a good New Year’s Eve?

   Posted by: ladybug   in Uncategorized

Nothing too exciting here….. hope everyone stayed safe.  Our New Years Day dinner was delicious….  just spent it with family….  Had our annual Ham and potato salad/macaroni salad/baked candy beans and cornbread!  My mother also brought over my birthday cake, which is a week away…  :)  It falls in the middle of the week so she figured we would celebrate it….  awwww, I’m so loved!!!

Last Friday Joe had off (the day after Christmas) but not this one, so this morning I got him up, and Joey had to work too…. so they were off!  On Wednesday, I took Rhea and Kylie shopping to spend their gift cards.  They both did real well, and still have quite a bit more left!  Rhea also snuck in a birthday gift.  I still can’t figure out how the two of them managed…. I thought I was with them the WHOLE time..  LOL  Reckon not!  She bought me an electric can opener!!  LOL LOL  That may not sound like much to you, but after years of using a hand held one?  Oh yeah, baby…. this one is fantastic!!  LOL LOL

The garden is cranked with the January challenges… and the January Collab kit is in the shoppe!!  It sells for $8.50, but you can get it for FREE with the purchase of $10 or more….  It has over 53 papers, and tons of elements!!  Look….

Isn’t that gorgeous?  Here are some layouts that were done using this humungous kit!  Our garden granny JB Scraps has been really busy!!

This next one is from Carena!!

and mine!

How versatile is this kit?  Well, as you can see…. quite!!  We also have a challenge set up for layouts done with this kit…  you can earn up to 50 seeds if you participate!!  C’mon and give it a try!!

Ok, I’m gonna sign off for now….  I have 2 of the challenges done, and about 15 more to do… I will share those with you later….

Have a great weekend my friends…..  {{HUGS}}

Last day of 2008!!

   Posted by: ladybug   in Uncategorized

Just a quick post to wish everyone a very safe and happy New Year’s Eve!!  It is so hard to believe the 2009 is about to begin, isn’t it?  I do know that it is gonna be a much better year.  The goofy dorks at the garden and the designers have been busy getting their challenges up for January….  I put my Inspirational challenge up too!!  I made 2 layouts with this inspiration…..

Thanks to Liz for her input and assistance on this one…. and then I did another one….

Credits for this layout go to Nathfunstuff and of course Ladybug…

Now if you want to see what “inspired” these layouts….  stop by and check out my challenge!

Remember I told you about “finding” my cousins?  Well it seems that Debbie is a scrapper!!  Actually she paper scraps, and I just introduced her to digital scrapping…  Here is her very 1st layout EVER using the computer…  she used my kit called Frosty for this!!

She did an awesome job too…. She has been really busy planting those seeds in the garden too, so stop by and see the others she has created!!

Well, gonna wrap this up… got some shopping to do today and get ready for our New Years Day dinner.  I leave you with a little wish…..

I thought I would do it…..

   Posted by: ladybug   in Uncategorized

I keep reminding all the members to update their blogs, so I thought I would “practice” ….  :)  So here I am, updating…..

The weekend is almost over, and then into a short work week.  Since it is only a week out from being a new month, I posted my “Replanting your Desktop” challenge.  This way you can have it ready….  Here is what the template looks like, and you can get it here:

and I did mine…  LOOK!

Noooo…. I didn’t take those photos LOL LOL  I still, have never seen snow!

The SCRAP=BINGO game is finished for the month of December.  Elaine aka emst was the grand prize winner!  What that means though, it is time to get your January cards ready….  I made mine showing you what we will be playing for.  We will have 2 games…. first will be the Crazy L, and then on to the coverall.  Here’s my Crazy L :

I used the FREE stuff that you will receive when you do the Miracle Gro-session 1 challenge…. Here’s what is coming your way January 1st:

So you might want to plan on joining in this month!  We have a lot of fun with this one……

I also did another layout of some of my family on Christmas Eve….  I aged the photo with cracks attempting to do a new technique….

This was done for the font challenge at the garden.  You still have a few more days to get yours done and earn 20 seeds for doing so…  Dorann gives you the font, and you use it in a layout… how easy is that?  For each of the challenges, you earn 20 seeds (some will earn you more)… and for every 100 seeds, you get $1 to spend in the shoppe!  You really need to stop by and try it…. I think we have one of the best sites for challenges out there…..

Well my dear friends…..  I will wrap this up for another day, or two  :)  I will now share with you some of the members layouts using the desktop:

This one is done by Liz (aka sexy_eyes)… she does such beautiful work!

This one was done by Shari (aka charliesnana)  That is Charlie.. it is sooo much fun watching him grow up!

This one was done by Elaine (aka emst)  The littlest one is Sydney…. her newest addition to her family!  She also used the Petal A Day Giveaway for the month of December made by our very own Karen Wallace.  Every day, no matter what month, you can get a piece to a new kit made by our featured designer!!  So what are you waiting for?

Ok, now it’s a wrap!!  Have a great week, and keep those memories being planted!!!  Love you guys… {{HUGS}}

Ah…. the day after

   Posted by: ladybug   in Uncategorized

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  We sure did…. with the economy the way it is, it sure does feel good to “get back to basics”….  Every year we have a Christmas Eve get together with ALL the family (those that live around here)  and this year was no exception.  My oldest daughter Monique, her husband Andy, and my beautiful granddaughters, and my oldest son Sean, had a blast!  We had pizza, cookies, more pizza, eggnog, rumaki, and more cookies!  We exchanged gifts, drank beer, laughed and enjoyed each others company.  It was really a beautiful evening.  Joey’s girlfriend joined the family too!  Then everyone was off to do more “partying”.  We cleaned up and settled down for a quiet evening of TV.  You do realize that your children are growing up when on Christmas morning….  you wake up FIRST!!  :)  In years past, we would get woken up by the whispers of the children checking out their stockings….  :)  Ah, such memories.  My son Shane and his wife weren’t home this year, nor was Destiny, her husband Vincent or my grandson Aiden…..  but being able to talk to them on the phone was present enough.  Christmas day was great!  Getting up and making breakfast, and then opening our gifts to Christmas music…..  getting dinner ready (which was made by Bob Evans  :)  )  and then relaxing with my Mother and Father for the day was priceless.  The older kids stay at home on Christmas, which works out great!  Joey and Rhea will be doing some shopping with their gift cards they rec’d.  It is Black Friday, part 2!  I don’t think I will even attempt to spend mine!!!  LOL LOL  All in all, it was an awesome day!

With the new year approaching, people tend to reflect back.  I do believe that 2009 is gonna be a good year for our country and economy.  So many people get wrapped up in themselves and their own self greed, that they really forget what the true meaning of living is all about.  I would say that at various times in my life, I have been guilty of that myself.  You step back, get a reality check, remember WHO has always been by your side….  and just say thanks!  It is like the FOOTPRINTS in the SAND ……  There may have been times I may not have been there for certain people, and I felt that I was alone, but thank GOD, He has always been here for me!!!

I did do a couple of layouts last nite…. actually I did 3, but I can’t show you one of them since it was made with the January Collab kit, which will be released Jan. 1st.  You will be able to purchase the kit for $8.50, or get it for FREE with the purchase of $10 or more…..

The bottom one was even picked as Bloom of the Day at the garden.  I can’t believe they have grown up soooo fast!  I have so many more to scrap…..  well, maybe tonight!

I do have my challenge stuff ready for January, but haven’t even had time to give you a sneek peek…  hmmm, maybe next week LOL LOL  :)

Ok…. signing off for the “day after”…… Hope everyone has a great weekend….  Joey is working today, Joe is off and well hmmm, I wonder?

See ya next week…  {{HUGS}}
